The Very Hungry Caterpillar came to visit this week in P1. We say the days of the week every day in P1 as we do our calendar, and this helped us to sequence them. We also talked about what things we do on different days of the week e.g. Dance is on a Monday and Multi-Sports is on a Wednesday. We all love ICT on a Friday! We made sets of the different fruit the Hungry Caterpillar eats and we even bought some of the tasty treats he enjoys in our shop using 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins. We learned all about the life cycles of a frog and butterfly as well as doing some beautiful artwork. We explored symmetry through painting symmetrical butterflies. We read Tadpole’s Promise by Jeanne Willis, writing speech bubbles for each character to explore what they might say to each other when they meet again as a frog and a butterfly.
