Mary’s Day

11th May 2020

We have always had a lovely tradition here at Chapel Road. During the month of May we always have a very special occasion, one where we celebrate the children in our school who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation and First Holy Communion and we celebrate Our Lady,Mary! This has been in the form of a prayer service around our Quad in front of our statue of Our Lady. This is a very special occasion as it brings together the whole school community, parents, grandparents, parishioners and includes all the children and staff from the school and Chapel Road Community Playgroup. Together with Fr Canny’s help we say the Rosary, we sing hymns to Mary, we listen to our Primary 7’s readings and drama and we celebrate our Primary 4’s who have received the sacrament of the Eucharist!

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to take part in this very special service this year! Today was the day that we had planned to hold our celebration, so because of this we would ask that at some point today with your family you would take a moment and think about Our Lady, our P7 and P4 children who have had to wait for their special days until it is safe to do so! You can do this by saying a decade of the Rosary together, singing a hymn to Mary, asking Mary to continue to look after us and keep us safe so that we can all see each other again soon! Here are a few pictures from last years service to remind everyone how beautiful and special our school is!❤️

Take care and God Bless 🙏😇❤️
