Splish Splash Splosh! with Primary 2 - Week 8

22nd May 2020

Hello boys and girls,

It was great to see some lovely faces on Wednesday at our teams meeting. We read the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 🐛 I showed you all the butterfly net garden and promised you I would order the caterpillars. However, when I went to order our caterpillars online they said they are not delivering at the minute as the post may take too long for the live animals. So we will have to wait to another date I'm afraid!

We will have another Story Time this Wednesday 27th May, Group A at 10.00, Group B at 10.30 and Group C at 11.00.  Come along if you can!📚

Again, I see lots of you are working hard online at your Mathletics and Teach Your Monster How to Read. I also see from the lovely pictures how you are using your learning packs. Our current Topic 'Splish, Splash, Splosh!' seems very appropriate today. Have a look at the umbrellas that Emma and Oisin designed, I think they are great. ☔️ Oisin was also doing his experiment from the learning pack this week. Can you see how he was testing if the objects floated or if they sunk? Look at how he had to record his findings on the sheet. Oliver also did another experiment with water and pebbles. Oliver told me that he watched a programme called 'Come Outside - Water', with Aunt Mable and Pippen the dog. There is a water experiment at the end of the programme about a crow trying to get a drink of water. You could watch the programme too at home on YouTube (ask parents first!).

Finn was also experimenting this week in his new mud kitchen, how cool does this look!!🚰 I wish I had one out in my back garden. I remembered to take pictures of my garden pets this week. Robbie the Robin and Sammy the Squirrel. They are loving all the little seeds I am leaving out for them.

Jack decided to email his message to Miss Kerr about the things he missed from school.📧 I cannot wait to read other letters and see the pictures of Miss Kerr’s challenge. Shea sent a brilliant drawing of how our class is feeling too. Harry the Hedgehog sent Miss Kerr a letter saying that he had a picnic with all your teddies. 🦔 On Wednesday 27th May and Thursday 28th May your new learning packs will be available for collection from the school hall from 9.00am until 12 noon. I am going to leave your lovely teddy bears on top of the trays too for the adults to bring them back home to you. Do not worry about wee Harry, I'll bring him home with me!

As always keep up your super work and letting me know how you are doing. You are all my stars of the week! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Don't forget school is off Monday and Tuesday for the bank holiday so enjoy your long weekend.

Hopefully see you on Wednesday 👩🏼‍🏫

Take care

Mrs Kyle 🌈🥰
