Week 9 Primary 2 Home School

29th May 2020

Hey boys and girls. I think that has to be our quickest week so far!

I hope you have all been able to collect your new learning packs. How excited do your teddies look waiting to be collected? I'm happy to hear they had a picnic with Harry the Hedgehog!

It was lovely to see some familiar faces on Wednesday again. As I explained when I was in my attic looking for the book I had wanted to read to you (Mr Gumpys Outing), I found a picture of my first class I taught in London. This picture reminded me of one of my lovely pupils called Marvin, and why I decided to read you the funny story of Marvin Wanted More! I have lovely memories of that wee class, and I was telling the girls about a girl called Bethany who made me a bangle using pins and beads. I kept the bangle and have taken a picture to show you!

I am so impressed by your hard work. Have a look at what Blaithin, Clara, Jack and Oliver have been up to this week!

I've asked Blaithin if she can do some home deliveries from her living room shop? Look at the size of the castle she has helped her sister Caireann to make. I think I would like to live in a castle like this. Clara was being artistic too. I love how she made the caterpillar using an egg box and then how she made the butterfly, what beautiful colours!

Can anyone guess what game Oliver is playing on his iPad?

Yes, your right, it is Teach Your Monster How to Read! It is one of my favourite apps too. Oliver you really deserve the certificate your mum and dad have awarded you for your all your superhero work!

As you know each week we practice our key words and now you have 200! Jacks mum checked to see how many of these words he could remember and look at how many he got!! Wow Jack, congratulations!!

I do understand that some of the key words can be tricky to remember. Have a look at the 200 words. If there are still some words you are unsure of that is ok. You can keep them on a separate list. Break them into smaller groups. Have a look at the games back in week 5 pictures to help you. Do any of you have a way to learn your key words to share with your friends?

The weather has been beautiful this past week. If you can take your learning to the garden, like I recommended in your Newsletter. I went outside to plant with my two children. We planted Busy Lizzie seeds and I planted Forget Me Nots because I'm thinking of you all!

I now need to go and buy a paddling pool and get ready for my favourite pop stars who are doing a concert tonight online. I have told you about them before, so if you hear any clapping and screaming tonight boys and girls you will know it's me!

Stay safe, enjoy the sun and have a lovely weekend

Mrs Kyle 😊
